                             Midwifery Practice in New York State                              

Nicole Rouhana, Binghamton University

This presentation will review the historical elements of nurse-midwifery practice and describe how midwifery care can improve maternal fetal outcomes, particularly in rural and underserved communities. Current New York State nurse-midwifery statistics will be examined along with potential methods to expand coverage to women and families.
